This book was disappointing; I have enjoyed her past books, though some are stronger than others.
The premise of this book is that nine people go to a remote health resort in Australia (all her books take place in Australia) in hopes that their lives will be transformed. That sounds like it could be interesting, but the plot of this book is not believable. Some characters are fairly well developed, others not so much. All of Liane Moriarty’s books are non-linear; you start in at a certain point, and you eventually learn what happened in the past through flashbacks. That is the case here as well.
The resolution of this book left a bad taste in my mouth. I was really rather appalled. I may never visit a health spa after reading this book.
I can not recommend this book. I give it 1.5 stars because it did hold my interest to the end; I wanted to see what happened. But if I were you, I would skip this book and read What Alice Forgot instead. It is a much better book.
