This movie is truly beautiful and one of my favourites because of its special message about family and bringing them together with music. Miguel is a young boy who has interest in music but is not allowed because of his family’s secret history. Wanting to prove his talent to his family, Miguel ends up in Land of the Dead and with the help of a man named Hector, the two try to find out about Miguel’s family history. I loved this movie because it shows the difficult connections in family and by working together problems can be easily solved. Even the songs were beautiful! I also found this movie sad because Miguel saw a person disappear forever because no one remembered him. There are some flaws but overall, this movie was beautiful and entertaining! 4.5/5 - @LibbyTeen of the Hamilton Public Library's Teen Review Board Coco is a beautiful, the most lively, and atmospheric movie ever created. After seeing this movie it was like the best movie of 2017. I love music so much that’s why I also love watching musical movies. The songs in this movie are very catchy - I’m already 19 years old but still I enjoy watching cartoon and animated films, like this one. This is why we shouldn't underestimate any movie and also we shouldn’t judge a movie by its cover. When I saw the trailer of this, I was like, okay another Disney Pixar movie, well I know it’s gonna be good but not other movies, but I was wrong, this movie is great! It’s suitable for all ages, especially kids. They’ll enjoy it and it has lots of moral lesson on it. 5/5 Stars. @moviefanatic of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board Coco, a 2017 film, is about a vigorous young boy named Miguel who shows his love for music and finds himself wandering in the “Land of the Dead.” None of Miguel's relatives believe that music brings everyone together; in fact, they want to have music banished from the family tradition. In my opinion, my favourite character in this works is Miguel because he shows of his love for music, and doesn't give up on this passionate journey of his. Coco is an emotional and highly energetic film and I recommend this movie for all ages. The moral/lesson I learned from this film is that “stand up for what you love, even if it's something everyone else hates.” - @chitterchatter of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library I don't even know where to start with this review. This movie was one of the best animated movies in my opinion. I have watched it 3 times already, ones with my little cousins, once with my friends, and once alone. I never get tired of watching this movie because it is not only suitable for younger audiences but older ones too. One this i loved about this movie was the lessons in it. For example, Family is very important. I love all the things that coco goes through and the ending so spectacular. I cried so much during this movie and so did my little cousins and my friends. Everyone i have shown this movie to has loved it. I totally recommend this movie to people of all ages. I give this movie a 5 out of 5 stars. - @terrificbooklover of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board Despite his family's generations-old ban on music, young Miguel dreams of becoming an accomplished musician like his idol Ernesto de la Cruz. Desperate to prove his talent, Miguel finds himself in the stunning and colorful Land of the Dead. After meeting a charming trickster named Héctor, the two new friends embark on an extraordinary journey to unlock the real story behind Miguel's family history. This movie is absolutely fantastic. The ending is a little sad and I cried but it was great. There are parts in the movie that are sad but I LOVE IT. My favourite character would have to Miguel because he is determined to what he believes in. I would recommend this movie to kids ages 4+. Overall, this an amazing movie! 5/5. @TheBookWorm of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board
