If you are a fan of Red Queen and want to find out what happens and be able to get to book three, you should probably read this. If you don't care that much about the characters and want to see if Glass Sword is better than, or builds out substantially from Red Queen, you should probably put the book down carefully and back away. I won't rewrite what so many excellent reviewers have said. Basically the action in this book is severely overshadowed by Mare's internal pity party, where her soul is black and dead so she must push everyone away even though she doesn't want to, because "anyone can betray anyone." Kind of like Aveyard betrayed us with this book. Queen Elara dies. Do we get to see the battle? Nope. She's just dead. Guess Mare killed her but she's not talking. Farley, who should be leading them is pushed to the background. About the only interesting thing is Maven's growing fascination with Mare and the the lengths he will go to to get her back. The plot is basically Mare and Maven racing to find the New Bloods before the other does. This at least leads us to a finale that will leave you excited for book three.
