Excellent book as always with Verdon. But there's one thing that doesn't make sense. Throughout the book we find that this Peter Pan, or call him whatever you like, is one dangerous killer, untouchable and even invisible, making no mistake. Maybe the author didn't know how to resolve this problem without adding 500 other pages on an already long book. So what does he do? The little guy waits for Gurney to almost catch up with him and then go hides in the most Stephen King-esk of horror show: the circus. Ok, maybe not the circus, but very close to it. I mean, get real. The ferris wheel moving by itself down the fairway? King would be jealous, I'm sure. In the end we see that this monster is only a stupid little imbecile, just waiting for Gurney to kill him. Very weak. He should have slept on it and realized that this made no sense at all. Still four stars for the effort. But for that twisted end, I cannot give him the extra star.
