Add a CommentA wonderful story and very heart breaking. I have read this book many times and had to read it again. I read this once in Highschool and then used it in College as a book report for a assignment. It is one book that could and will be continued to be re-read. Pick it up and see what I am talking about.
I reread this after many years. I find it is still one of the best on this subject.
What an incredible book! Really opens your eyes to the struggles that Native people experience in our society...the stereotypes & misconceptions!
A must read!!!!!
Two Metis sisters growing up in Manitoba and their struggles with coming to terms with who they are......deals with a lot of difficult adult issues such as alcoholism , foster care, abuse,
rape, prostitution and suicide.....I have found a new respect for a culture I'm not part of...excellent read!!!!!!!!!
What a powerful story! Tragic and insightful. Quick read because I really couldn't put it down - wanted to find out what happens to the sisters.
