This was a difficult read after the last book hinted at something more exciting coming in the next book. Disappointing is the least harsh thing I can say. It is past time to add more depth to the main character if you want to continue on to the 28th, 29th and on. The 28th is already in the can let us hope she added some dimension to Stephanie.

3.5 stars for 'Fortune and Glory'.

There is so much predictable in the oh, so getting boring madcap adventures of Stephanie Plum, her divided libido, her abuse, albeit inadvertent abuse, of Ranger's cars and the need of fear induced junk food with her flamboyant sidekick, Lula.

It was a struggle for me to keep reading 'Fortune and Glory' because it's simply all too familiar to the first 26 Plum books. They all have the exact same same outline. I could write the next 26 myself, and so can you.

Fortunately, 'Fortune and Glory' is saved by the introduction of two new characters, George Potts and Gabriela Rose who are as different as frozen chopped broccoli and French champagne. I certainly hope they help Stephanie grow the heck up. She's beginning to lose her teenage angst and snark and rethinking her sass. Perhaps her accident induced haircut is her first step.

It doesn't get interesting until Chapter 29.

I love these books!

I love this series! It's funny and has just enough action to distract from all that's going on in the world, without causing any nightmares. And, I'm really looking forward to the new spinoff series. My only negative comment is, why in the world did Janet, or was it the publisher, name the book "Fortune and Glory"? One of the trademarks of this series is the numbered titles. The book's main title should have been "Tantalizing Twenty-seven", rather than using that only as the subtitle. As I almost didn't read the book, because I didn't recognize the title as one in the Stephanie Plum series, I'm wondering if the title choice may have negatively affected her book sales.

Twisted 26 is the story about the lost keys after Grandma s husband dies.

I'm hoping Fortunw and Glory 27 is good.

Please end this boring, same old story series.

The character's name is Lula not Lulu.

Please tell me you are going to get the Kindle version!!

I still enjoy the Stephanie Plum books. They are just some light hearted fun. I do wish she would choose between Range and Joe.
