I don't know how accurate this film is in depicting actual events. In any case, it shows Rachel Scott directly encountering the two perpetrators twice before the actual shooting at Columbine High School. To the extent the film is accurate, I can't help but wonder what the outcome would have been if Rachel had been more compassionate to them. In the first encounter Rachel is depicted as playing a role in silencing them rather than engaging in compassionate listening. That is not to excuse their horrific and inexcusable acts or to blame Rachel for what happened.

Moreover, in the aftermath of Rachel's death the film depicts people interpreting the 13 tears in one of her drawings as an homage to the 13 people killed that day. In fact, 15 people died when you include the two shooters. For people who worship and follow Jesus Christ surely it is not too much to ask for them to remember that as Jesus was dying on the cross he prayed for his tormentors and executioners: "Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do."

Beautifully sad story of life, death, love, hate, discrimination, and faith.

The story surrounding the Columbine shooting 1999 and Rachel Joy Scott. She is a Christian Girl who died for believing in Jesus Christ....

This young lady's story is inspiring for many reasons, but particularly for the faith she displayed when confronted in a sudden rush of hate, violence and ultimately her own death. Her response to the killers' taunting is nothing short of miraculous. Some people claim this moment never happened, but Richard Costaldo's comments mere hours after the event prove otherwise. Many other victims (those trapped in the library) were taunted for their faith, race and physical appearance. Video footage of the two perpetrators as well as their journal entries show their hatred for all things Christian. I believe in Rachel's faith. Now, many years after this massacre took place, I find it incredibly uplifting that the story of what happened that day is beginning to turn to the students who trusted in their faith. Nothing would offend the killers more. I can't recommend this movie highly enough.

The true story of one Columbine student and how she dared to boldly stand up for her beliefs, even amidst her own personal dilemmas and such dark tragedy. Her spirit lives on and continues to touch lives this day. A very emotional story.

Well, somebody should be ashamed. The Columbine shootings are distorted and repackaged as a Christian vs. atheist coming of age story; no prizes for guessing which side is which. For those wondering if this film is a substantially true depiction of events, no, not according to Rachel Joy Scott's father. The producers even add a child with Downs' Syndrome, who never existed, for RJS to talk to occasionally, to emphasize how "perfect" she was. Which is a pity, because a film with less of an agenda and more reality would be interesting and insightful. As it is, who cares about those other kids who died, or what really happened? This films is about a budding Anne Frank (they wish)!

I saw this wonderful film at the theater; what a shame that both times I went myself and present company were the only ones in the theater. A Must See for Everyone!!!
