The mega bestselling book that started the heaven publishing phenomenon is now a major motion picture starring Hayden Christensen and Kate Bosworth and produced by Michael Polish. Don Piper's incredible true story continues to expand its reach to more people than ever before.
After a semi-truck collided with Don Piper's car, he was pronounced dead at the scene. For the next ninety minutes, he experienced the glories of heaven. Back on earth, a passing minister felt led to stop and pray for the accident victim even though he was told Piper was dead. Miraculously, Piper came back to life, and the pleasure of heaven was replaced by a long and painful recovery.
This special edition of Don's life-changing story includes a new preface from Don about the making of the movie, plus a personal update on the impact the book has had on him, his family, and the millions who have already heard his story. It also includes a note from the publisher, stories from readers, and Scriptures and quotations on heaven.

Baptist minister has serious accident and a near-death experience where he goes to heaven. This is covered in the first few chapters. The majority of the book then deals with his recovery, his work with others who have had serious accidents, and those who either are dying or have someone who has just died.

Amazing story - uplifting and encouraging!! Especially helpful after our 22 year old died.

Interesting book, competently written. I agree with the poster who says it's more about the author's recovery than his time in heaven - not quite what I was expecting, somehow, though I was glad of what he did say. However, he lost me when he wrote about sitting in a cafe with a friend and they looked around and thought that probably the place was full of "lost" people who were "going to hell". I will never understand how people who believe in a loving God, can also believe in hell. I suppose it's a Southern Baptist hellfire-and-brimstone approach but unfortunately that negates the very origins of Christianity, in which Jesus died for all our sins. For a much more interesting book on time spent in heaven, I would recommend "Heaven is For Real" by Todd Burpo.

A good book. If we all could spend time in Heaven and come back this world would be a lot different.

This book took my breath away, it was very inspirational! There should be no doubt in anyones mind after reading this that heaven is probably more then he was able to describe!

Very emotional story. The story tends to be more about the author's recovery process as opposed to what Heaven looks like and he seems a bit repetative, but it really makes you think hard about religion, family, friends, and self-worth.

A very interesting read... I read this book right after reading, '23 Minutes in Hell.' I can easily tell you where I'd rather be spending my eternity. Both are very good books and I would recommend them.
