Author Melvin Starr does a good job of weaving history with fiction. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Large print or ebook would be nice for those who cannot read tiny print.

Really good historical fiction, well researched and true to the times. I love historical fiction and found this book at Goodwill. I already have the second in the series and will read it next. I highly recomment it if you have any interest in the 1300's or early medicine or even if you just like a good mystery.

Great beginning for a series. The mysteries were well thought out. I wonder whether the young surgeon, who solves the mysteries, would know as much as Hugh does.
