Readers of all ages will find meaning and enjoyment in this picture book. It is a true story from the author's family that celebrates kinship and kindness. Patricia Polacco's illustrations, with their great detail and targeted use of color, are fascinating to look at.

The author/illustrator took a page from her own family's history to create this small story of how one heirloom can tell a whole story.
