Attention, all you mommies and daddies! - This is the fully revised and completely updated edition of the classic manual that was originally written by Dr. Benjamin Spock back in 1946.

Overlooking the fact that Dr. Spock favoured male-circumcision - (Yee-Ouch!! Leave my foreskin alone!!) - This exhaustively-written book provides first-time and experienced parents some of the best information about caring for new babies, toddlers, and adolescents in the 21st century.

All of Dr. Spock's invaluable, time-tested advice is still here, along with the most current medical practices and advances in health care. While still covering key parenting issues like accidents, illnesses and injuries, this edition of the classic also contains the latest on nutrition and childhood obesity, and children and the media, as well.

*Note* - In 1998 - Benjamin Spock (94 at the time) died of natural causes.

I found this book (or should I say manual as this is more given to the style) very good. It is the type of book that I will need to borrow a few times as it has sections on different ages of babies and children e.g. newborn to 2 yrs, 2 yrs to 3 etc. I only read the sections relevant to me at the current time. I think Dr Spock would have been a very caring man and this care for others comes through in the book. Although originally written over 65 years ago it stays current by getting updated by experts. The book covers sleeping, feeding, etc but is most comprehensive when describing medical ailments e.g. rashes, bee stings, etc. Don't be put off by the size of the book as you can simply look up the sections applicable to you and your bub and only read those.
