"Death. It happens to everyone, yet most of us don’t want to talk about this final chapter of existence. Sixth-generation funeral director Caleb Wilde intimately understands this reticence and fear. The son of an undertaker, he hesitated to embrace the legacy of running his family’s business. Yet he discovered that caring for the deceased and their loved ones profoundly changed his faith and his perspective on death—and life itself."--

I thought this book was wonderful & beautifully written. This is an honest book, written from the heart. It's an insight into the life of one Funeral Director who shares his doubts, his insecurities, his sorrows and joys. I for one, will never look at a Funeral Director the same again. I'll bow my head and give thanks that there are still folks who care, care deeply for the dying, the dead and the bereaved.

I was hoping this book would be more about the people that use this service, but I found that I did a lot of skimming when the author started to talk about religion or the negative death narrative.
