This is a very good movie anchored by a wonderful performance by Chadwick Boseman playing future Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall as a young man. The film is a period piece, focusing on one of Marshall's cases in the 1940's. This…

What would otherwise be a fairly standard courtroom drama/mystery (even if it is based on true events) is made great by acting and extra historical touches. Chadwick Boseman and Josh Gad in particular are fantastic. Chadwick Boseman's…

Excellent film about one of the early cases of Thurgood Marshall who later became the first man of color on the U. S. Supreme Court. Wish he could be back!!! Highly recommend. Kristi & Abby Tabby
A fantastic look at the early years of Thurgood Marshall's life in court. Later, becoming the first African American to sit on the Supreme Court. This is a great look at one of the cases that helped Justice Thurgood Marshall become one…

Truly disappointed considering this powerhouse of a man. I didn't feel it did justice to his life, his accomplishments, his character. I likely first heard his name in the late '50's, early '60's, was in awe of him. For me, he ranks…

Really enjoyed the movie, the story, and the cast! Very well-done and very frank! The only criticism is how abruptly it ended! It ought have been Part 1! There is much more to tell! Ending it with a written summary of Marshall's career…

Fully enjoyed this movie based upon a pivotal time of Thurgood Marshall's (1908 - 1993) career. Acted and directed well with some interesting summary texts at the end of the film that informs the reader of his success's.
Chadwick Boseman…

4 stars for the importance of presenting African-Americans and Thurgood Marshall to the world, but the film was a little too humorous for its presentation of 1940's America. Remember, this is the time where white racism and anti-semitism…

Entertaining yarn, based on actual events, of the early career of Thurgood Marshall who later joined the greats on the U.S. Supreme Court. I learned a few things I had not been aware of prior to viewing the video. Marshal was one of the…

The beginnings of Thurgood Marshall's career. Very good film. Great lead and supporting actor. Art direction gives a quick glimpse into the 1960's styles. Script well written and clearly depicts the ideas of the times. Beginnings of Civil…
Excellent!! Beautifully filmed. Wonderful slice of history of Thurgood Marshall. Great film all-around. My spouse even enjoyed it and he is a picky movie guy. The lead actor is fantastic. I highly recommend this film.

I've been watching Perry Mason reruns for 50 years and Law and Order for at least four versions and even Bull, so this was something really new to me. Marshall is not glamorized at all. He is shown as a pompous jerk who neglects his wife.…
What a GOOD movie! The lead was perfect, although probably not as tall as Thurgood Marshall. The forewoman of the jury was sharp in a small part. Dan Matthews of “Downton Abbey” fame was a smarmy prosecuting attorney, and James Cromwell,…

I really enjoyed this movie - a period piece and courtroom drama. One small criticism is that people spoke differently back then and I wish they used more the language of the day.
